Rounding off the value brought to the clients are PFS’s wellness approaches that integrate evidence-based nutrition recommendations, yoga asanas and breath work seamlessly integrated into the training, and an optimistic outlook in life. As a physician, I am impressed with Amy’s comprehensive wellness philosophy and training tactics. PFS is the place to be at - for your best form, function, and fitness training.

I thought I would try out this new fitness studio that moved into my neighbor’s ballet studio space when she retired. 18 years later I am still with PFS and Amy! What started out as a desire to strengthen and maintain my flexibility, somewhere along the line turned into a lifetime commitment to make sure my body can do all that my mind wants it to do. I went from hardly being able to do a squat to finding they are my chosen exercise. I can measure my progress. Then there are planks - my half minute to two minutes, throw in side planks and variations - wow, what a difference. Amy is creative, enthusiastic and is always changing up the classes - never has a class routine been repeated. PFS not only improved my ability to move, but my frame of mind. Going to the studio is a positive event. It is pleasing to the eye and calming to the mind. The other members are supportive, yet not competitive - we exercise to our own bodies needs. Amy knows the capabilities of each person, when to push, when to modify and always provides positive feedback. Her knowledge is vast in multiple disciplines. Who knew I would learn about different muscle groups and how they work together. Whatever your level, Amy will provide what you need.
PFS isn’t a gym and is unlike any other fitness “facility”. Maybe the best way to describe it, is that PFS is all of the best aspects of all those other places. All together in a caring, positive, and very personal environment which supports your well-being. Amy and Lisa manage to keep you grateful about whatever your body can or can’t achieve during each and every workout while still encouraging, motivating, and providing you with the knowledge and support to help you to do more and better. I started with private training sessions at PFS in the fall of 2015 to get in shape for ski season, after hip replacement surgery, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’m amazed at the positivity that PFS embodies and the depth of knowledge about all things health and nutrition-wise, that Amy and Lisa have and share. And their ability to adjust movements and positions “on the fly” to avoid pain or injury or correct for proper form is extraordinary! PFS still is my personal health and recovery team!
Amy GiaQuinto is an excellent communicator who listens actively to one's symptoms and medical background. She has an expert knowledge of biomechanics of the body. Amy has met me at every step, for over 15 years to motivate me and keep me strong! I am truly amazed at her knowledge of improving the wellbeing of the body and how she motivates us in class, and in every training session. I feel safe and proud to recommend Personalized Fitness Solutions to any friend, family or client to get the unique gifts of PFS.
I went to Personalized Fitness Solutions to get myself going on a workout program before it was too late. But what I got was a whole lot more. Amy GiaQuinto, my trainer, has helped me to find the motivation deep within me to start a process of physical transformation that is affecting every area of my life in such a positive way. She is such an upbeat and positive person who zeroed in immediately on how hard I am on myself and how little fun I was having exercising.
With Amy's help I have had such an attitude adjustment that started in the body. It feels so good to be exercising regularly and correctly and not to excess. I now love exercising and, in fact, look forward to it. I love the energy and strength it brings to me and the sense of accomplishment I feel as a result. Bring the body -- the heart and mind follows!
When I first began working with Amy GiaQuinto as my personal trainer, I had been suffering from Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for over ten years. Her vibrant personality, abounding good cheer and obvious enthusiasm for her work were contagious and, within no time, I found myself looking forward to our thrice weekly workouts. And, most amazingly, within weeks, the pain and fatigue had abated, and my whole outlook on life had improved.
Not to mention, I discovered that coordination and balance can be learned, with the assistance of a knowledgeable and supportive teacher. Her natural gift at being able to "read" people and put a specialized program together for each individual to reach their specific goals, allows for a truly personalized program. In this age of mass-franchise operations and their standardized one-size-fits-all approach, it is refreshing to see and experience Amy's unique level of individualized training, tailored to each client's specific needs and desires. Today I feel strong, healthy and have more energy than I have had in many years. My sleep has improved dramatically and the pain and fatigue are kept in check.
I've struggled with shoulder problems for more than two years. Amy has been the first person whose work has made a strong definite improvement in the health and function of my shoulders. She is very knowledgeable about the workings of the body, very pleasurable to work with, strongly motivating, knows when to push you and when to be supportive, and she gives great analogies to help you understand what you are trying to accomplish.
I really appreciate the way Amy runs her business. It is personalized, sensitive, intuitive and professional. I think that is very important. Thank you, Amy.
Many times during my lifetime (79 years) I have started a weight-training program. I had always quit after three or four sessions due to boredom, pain in my joints or not knowing how to do it correctly. But in June of 2003, I started a weight-training program with Amy, and weight training became a very important part of my life. My workouts become enjoyable as well as beneficial.I have severe arthritis in my lower back, knees and shoulders. I have had arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder. Amy designed my program and showed me how to perform the exercises so that I never had pain. I gained so much from her training because she took into account my personal situation: age, physical condition, limitations, etc.
I moved down to North Carolina in the fall of 2003 where I joined a gym, but I did not use it very much. My trainer was competent, well trained, conscientious and experienced, but the program she worked out for me was more suitable for a 22-year old football player. I have since taken up ball room dancing, where I can put a number of the skills Amy had taught me to use, such as the correct way to transition my body weight and proper posture and breathing. Having Amy as my personal trainer is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
